Flutist Lois Bliss Herbine is a recording artist on television, radio and commercial CDs. She is a solo piccolo artist on Crystal and BCM&D Records. All six accompanied recordings from her CD, Take Wing, including premieres of Persichetti, Dorff and Daugherty, have been broadcast on radio stations across the United States. Internationally renown Gramophone magazine hails her recital as “high-flying” and Music Web International claims, “Another leading wind soloist takes flight”. As a Powell Flute Artist she has given recitals, lectures and masterclasses at the Philadelphia Flute Society Flute Fair, Baylor, Rice and Temple University and the University of Michigan, among other schools and societies. Lois is a resident instructor at the International Piccolo Symposium and she performs regularly with a few local ensembles such as the Reading Symphony Orchestra and Fairmount Strings.

Harpist Sophie Bruno Labiner has performed extensively with the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as other major groups including the Pittsburgh Symphony, New York Philharmonic, and the English Chamber Orchestra. She has appeared both as soloist and as part of chamber music ensembles in the Philadelphia and New York areas. Other performances include American Ballet Theater, Kirov Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, American Boy Choir, Reading Symphony, Delaware Symphony, and the Princeton Festival of New Jersey. She has been known for her stunningly beautiful performances as Principal Harpist with Opera Philadelphia, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Orchestra 2001, and the Academy of Vocal Arts Opera Orchestra over many years.

Duo Harpyn can be expanded to a trio with addition of cello

Cellist Tony Pirollo attended the Philadelphia Music Academy where he studied with William de Pasquale, George Harpham and Claus Adam. He has performed as guest principal cellist with the Houston opera for Jose Carerras as well as for its world premiere of Meredith Monk’s opera “Atlas”. He has appeared as principal cellist for many artists including Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Joshua Bell, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin to name a few. In 1990, Tony co-founded Bel Canto Opera Company in which he serves as associate musical director and conductor.
